MSG was one of the first aggregate suppliers in the lower mainland to produce and market 100% quarried products. Quarried products are made by drilling and blasting solid rock then crushing and screening it to different sizes of finished product. MSG pioneered the use of quarried products in the late 80's when the vast majority of construction grade aggregates were produced from alluvial natural sand and gravel deposits.
Over time quarried products have gained significant traction to the point that today in many applications 100% quarried products are specified as the only suitable material due to their superior performance as base gravels. Some recent projects where quarried materials were specified are:
- Golden Ears Bridge Road Network
- South Fraser Perimeter Road
- All Arterial Roads in the City of Surrey
- Synthetic Turf Field Bases
Mainland's Cox Station Quarry, Jamieson Quarry and each of the depots carry quarried materials.
